Helen was recommended to me by my vet, who suggested she might be able to help my aging lurcher, Finbarr. He is 12 and has had made 'good use' of his body over the years chasing rabbits and all the things that lurchers do. In recent months he had become stiff in his gait and in particular uncomfortable along his back and neck. 

 

He is very nervous of the vets, and not keen on anyone handling him, so I was amazed just how well things went when Helen visited for his assessment and a trial session to see if he would accept her. Going at Finbarr's pace and always allowing him to move away if he wanted to, Helen managed to get him relaxing into the massage and letting her do just about whatever she wanted! 

 

She has a very calm and patient approach and is clearly totally committed to her work. Fin has had four treatments now, and is lifting and stretching his neck again, and much more comfortable in his gait. He runs to the gate wagging his tail when Helen arrives, and the fact that it is a home visit makes a big difference to his ability to relax. All the 'trigger points' along his neck and back have been released leaving him much freer in his range of movement and a much happier old chap. She has just started to treat my 13 year old whippet cross too, as I want her to feel the same benefits that Fin is enjoying.
